On Tuesday, April 6th, officers arrested Lakesha S. Lilly on an outstanding warrant for felony larceny.  Lilly is 26 years old and her address is listed as 1306 B. King Street, Spring Lake.

Detectives believe Lilly stole shoes and a cell phone from 17-year-old James Porter, as he lay unconscious on January 20, 2008 after he had been shot in the head.  It is also believed that she approached him at least twice while he lay unconscious.  Porter was found at the corner of Cliffdale and Pritchett Roads and was transported to the hospital where he later died.  Lilly did not render aid nor did she attempt to call for help.  Lilly has not been charged in connection with the shooting.  She was released from jail with an unsecured bond.

Detectives believe other individuals were with Lilly when the larceny occurred.  They also have other persons of interest related to this homicide.

Porter’s address was listed as 618 Devoe Avenue.

Detectives urge anyone with information regarding the shooting of James Porter to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 433-1856.  To remain anonymous and be eligible for up to a $1,000.00 reward, contact Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-8477.
