Felonious Assault/Assault:

Shortly after midnight last night, officers and paramedics were dispatched to the Dorm Lounge located at 1326 Weathervane Lane for a birthday party that ended in a fight. The fight started when one male grabbed another by the throat and started punching. A female then tried to intervene and was punched in the face and knocked down several steps. The female was transported to a local hospital for injuries to her face and head. She was treated and released.

The suspect, Anthony E. Kocis, 27, of Herman St in Barberton was arrested in the parking lot of the bar. He was charged with Felonious Assault and Assault. He was booked into the Summit County Jail where he is scheduled for an arraignment this morning in Akron Municipal Court.
Felony Domestic Violence:

Officers and paramedics responded to a call for help in the 500 block of Talbot Ave last night around 10:30 PM. The caller stated that he just needed the paramedics and hung up.

Offices arrived on scene and found a 28-year-old male with a stab wound to this hand and a 12-year-old female with a stab wound to her leg. The injuries were a result of a fight between the 28-year-old male and the 12-year-old’s mother. The child tried to defend her mother with a knife. The 12-year-old stabbed her mother’s boyfriend in the hand, and accidentally stabbed herself in the leg. The 12-year-old was taken to Children’s Hospital for treatment, and the 28-year-old male was taken to St. Thomas Hospital for treatment.

After treatment the 28-year old, Corey D. Suggs, of Raymond St in Akron was charged with Felony Domestic Violence and booked into the Summit County Jail. Suggs has five prior domestic violence convictions.
