Slidell, LA - Slidell Man holds Alabama Woman against Her Will

On Monday, March 10, 2008 the Slidell Police Department received a call from a 27 year old female in Alabama, claiming that she was involved in a Domestic Disturbance that occurred in Slidell, LA. The female advised that the incident occurred between 5:00 p.m. on March 8rd and 10:30 a.m. on March 9th, 2008 at 1427 Lakewood Drive in Slidell.
The victim told Officers (over the phone) that she lives in Alabama and had been dating Vasilios Pappas, age 45 since January 08, after meeting him on the internet, and that she was in town to spend the weekend with him. On Saturday at around 5:00 p.m. she and Pappas got into an argument over their relationship. During the argument Pappas made threats to hurt her if she did not change the way she was acting. The victim also told officers that she was felling ill and did not want the argument to continue, but Pappas continued escalating the argument. At one point during the argument Pappas took her purse which contained her keys and cellular phone and locked them in one of the rooms of the house. The victim then went to the master bedroom and was sitting on the edge of the bed crying, when Pappas walked in and hit her in the back of the head causing her to momentarily blackout. The victim advised that at this point in the argument Pappas became very angry and his verbal threats got more threating. Pappas made threats to kill her entire family before killing her, while holding a knife in his hand. The victim also told Officers that Pappas used a Karate type belt to choke her. The victim was finally able to calm Pappas down, but Pappas refused to allow her to leave the residence. The victim was finally able to leave on Sunday, March 9, returning to her home town in Alabama.
The victim did receive medical treatment for her injuries at an Alabama Hospital, and injuries were not known at the time of the release.
On Monday March 10, 2008 Detectives Brian Brown and Keith Bowman traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and met the victim at the Tuscaloosa Police Department and interviewed her in person. Once the Detectives returned to Slidell they obtained arrest warrants for Pappas.
On March 11, 2008 Pappas was arrested at his residence on the outstanding warrants.
Arrested Subject: Vasilios (Billie) D. Pappas, age 45 of 1427 Lakewood Drive, Slidell, LA was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment with a Dangerous weapon, Aggravated Battery and Second Degree Battery.
