JACKSON, MISS., Friday, March 7, 2008-The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) would like to announce the following traffic information to motorists traveling through Mississippi Delta counties and Central and Northern Mississippi.
Highway 61 in Tunica - Heavy snow has fallen on Highway 61 and I-55. Crews are out placing slag on the roadway, bridges and overpasses.
Highways 30 and 72 in Tishomingo County - Precipitation has accumulated on bridges and overpasses.
Highway 72 in Tippah County and Alcorn County - Precipitation has begun to accumulate on bridges and overpasses.
Highway 45 in Lee County - Precipitation has begun to accumulate on bridges on Highway 45.
The following counties have accumulated precipitation on bridges and overpasses. MDOT crews are out placing slag and salt on all affected areas in the following counties. Motorists are encouraged to drive with extreme caution if they have to travel in these affected areas.
