By admin • Mar 7th, 2008 • Category: Driving LawsDISCLAIMER - Any Charges Reported in these Press Releases are Merely Accusations and the Defendants are Presumed Innocent Unless and Until Proven Guilty.
The Roseville Police Department will conduct a “zero tolerance” traffic enforcement operation from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, March 17. Roseville traffic officers will be out in full force on and around Sunrise Avenue, ticketing speeders and other unsafe motorists.
In the spirit of Saint Patrick’s Day, motorists are reminded that slowing down, buckling up and driving courteously will help them avoid costly traffic citations and crashes, saving the “green” in their wallets!
The Roseville Police Department conducts special traffic enforcement operations periodically to calm traffic, usually on major roadways during commute hours. The department’s most recent special enforcement operation was conducted on the morning of February 26 on Blue Oaks Boulevard and Fiddyment Road. Officers issued 88 citations, mostly for speeding, during the four-hour operation.
Unsafe speed is the most common cause of injury collisions in Roseville. The department conducts both routine daily enforcement and periodic special enforcement in order to slow motorists down and prevent injuries and deaths due to speed-related crashes.
Overtime funding for Roseville’s special enforcement operations is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
