82 Year Old Woman Knocked to Ground, Purse Stolen

On March 4, 2008 at approximately 11:45 a.m., Santa Cruz Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of S. River St for a victim of a robbery. The victim had made a transaction at a bank on River Street and was attacked about a block away as she was walking on the sidewalk. The 82 year-old female victim was knocked to the ground from behind and had her bag forcefully taken from her arm. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the fall and violent removal of her bag. She was treated and released at a local hospital.
The suspect was last seen running from the scene in the three story parking garage on S. River Street. Several credit cards, cash, and the victim’s blue bag were stolen during the robbery.
