On Tuesday, 02/26/2008, at 12:26AM, deputies responded to the San Manuel Indian Casino after a report of an Armed Robbery, which had just occurred. Deputies arrived and contacted the victim, who was waiting with the San Manuel Public Safety Officers. The victim reported he had been approached by two men while entering the casino and they demanded money from him. One of the men, Suspect Ybarra, brandished a small handgun and demanded money from the victim. The victim fled and contacted San Manuel Public Safety Officers and reported the attempted robbery. He also identified the armed suspect, Ybarra, who was still inside the casino gambling.

Deputies entered the casino and located Ybarra; he had a loaded handgun in his pocket and was subsequently arrested without incident. Ybarra had recently been released from State Prison and is currently on Parole. He was booked at Central Detention Center and charged with Attempt Armed Robbery, Terrorist Threats, and being a convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. The victim was not injured during the incident.
