Narrative:
On February 12, 2008, at 12:04 AM, the Ventura Police Department received a 911 call that reported a home invasion robbery had just occurred.
Officers arrived and found the victim, Saarloos, severely beaten and in need of medical care. The victim was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center and treated by emergency room staff.
Detectives responded and determined that three masked men, armed with a firearm, had forced entry into the residence, ransacked the home, and beat the victim. The victim’s girlfriend was also in the residence at the time of the occurrence but was unharmed.
During the crime the suspects fired shots inside the residence however, no one was injured from gunfire. It appears that drugs played a part in this crime and the investigation is continuing.
